Suitto designs and makes sunglasses and optical frames in its own factory in Les Corts, Barcelona. Acetate, CNC precision, hand finishing. Behind the brand sit decades of experience as opticians, so the people who make the frames also know exactly how they should fit a face. The online store didn't tell that story. It ran on WooCommerce, it was slow, and it looked like any other shop. Together with Suitto's team, we moved everything to Shopify and started from zero. Custom theme, custom catalog, clean data underneath. Shopify development done the way we do it in Barcelona, with the brand leading and the platform working quietly for it.
No marketplace template, no theme with three hundred settings nobody uses. We wrote a custom Shopify theme from scratch, around Suitto's photography and its tone of voice. Every block is an Online Store 2.0 section, so the team in Barcelona launches a collection, a campaign or a new page on its own. The store looks like Suitto on day one, and it still will after the hundredth edit.
Opticians don't ask what model you want. They look at your face. So the catalog does too. We modeled every frame with metafields for gender, shape, colour and face shape, and turned those into filters anyone can use in two taps. Each combination becomes its own collection, like sunglasses for women with a round face, ready to rank on Google for exactly that search. Product pages carry the full fit: measurements, materials and the faces each frame suits best. A dedicated page explains the lenses, from UV400 protection to why they weigh less than mineral glass.
Because we wrote the theme ourselves, it carries nothing the store doesn't use. Images load at the size the screen needs. Scripts wait their turn. The result is a page that loads 87% faster than the old one, a PageSpeed score of 98 and a perfect 100 for SEO. The hero image is on screen in under a second. Good photography only sells frames if people stay long enough to see it.
Changing platforms usually means losing something on the way. We migrated Suitto's products and content from WooCommerce into Shopify and restructured them as we went, so the new catalog is cleaner than the one it replaced. Customer, order and consent data now live in one tidy structure.
